These Premium kits are assembled by us in the UK with our CG by Jupiter Paper-in-Oil capacitors to give a warmer woody tone, CTS “CGS” SupraPots in the volume position to retain tone and note definition as you roll down the volume to give a more natural control and CTS "CG" for the tone controls.   We then sort through our potentiometers to create matched sets to give you an even response when rolling down your volume and tone controls.

This Esquire prewired assembly will drop into most Mexican or American Fender guitars with no modification. Wired with 22 AWG vintage push-back wire for that vintage look and sound. 

If you are installing this on an import guitar with metric sized pots you will need to replace your control plate to accept the slightly larger US-Spec pots and buy US-Spec knobs.

Tele Esquire Eldred Mod:

While the Esquire is certainly a cool (and very versatile) guitar, the original ’50s wiring left a few Esquire players wanting something more out of the 3rd position. The original wiring yielded a very dark tone in position 3. The Eldred modification aimed to solve this by removing the fixed treble roll-off circuit from the original ’50s wiring and replacing it with a low-value capacitor instead. The original Eldred modification uses a 0.0047uf Cap. 

• Position 1: The Tone Controls are bypassed, and the Bridge pickup is routed only through the Volume Pot
• Position 2: The Bridge pickup is routed through the Volume and Tone pot, giving you control over both Tone and Volume.
• Position 3: The Tone Pot is again out of the circuit, but the Bridge pickup’s signal now introduces a small value capacitor, which gives you the “cocked wah wah pedal” tone.
